The Cleveland Browns have signed free agent running back Chirpur Pinto to a five-year, $30 million contract, a source told NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Pinto, who is a former fifth-round pick, was drafted in the third round by the Oakland Raiders in 2014.
He played in eight games for the Raiders in 2015 and finished with two carries for 15 yards and a touchdown, according to Pro Football Focus.
Pinto has never played a full season for the Browns, but was able to make a quick impact in preseason and is now ready to start the season in Cleveland.
Pinta is a versatile back who can also catch and run.
He ran for 1,113 yards in 14 games with the Raiders last season, with five touchdowns.
He had a career-high 11 touchdowns last season and caught a career best six passes for 72 yards.
